Oregon Beer News, 12/22/2016
Here is the Oregon beer news for Thursday, December 22. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Imperial Bottle Shop (Portland): Tonight they are featuring “A Trip in the Woods” with Sierra Nevada Brewing from 5 to 8pm: “Sierra Nevada Brewing recently released three new barrel-aged delights in their world-class Trip in the Woods beer series, and we’ll have all on tap along with a special treat from Sierra Nevada and another from our cellar: Barrel-Aged Biere de Garde, Barrel-Aged Bigfoot Barleywine with Ginger, Barrel-Aged Narwhal Imperial Stout with red and black currants, Sidecar Orange Pale Ale, and 2015 Barrel-Aged Bigfoot Barleywine. Available by the glass or as a 5-beer sampler.”
Portland’s Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider is hosting a Holiday Night Market today from 4 to 10pm that is perfect for last-minute shoppers: “Come one, come all to our last-minute, warm and cozy Holiday Night Market! A fundraiser for PICA, awesome local shopping and cider for you fun-loving procrastinators. Browse locally made goods while sipping a warm cider cocktail. Grab bottles to go for your holiday table.” It’s a great list of vendors lined up, so check this out.
Eugene’s Claim 52 Brewing will be at the Southeast Portland Growler Guys tonight from 6 to 9pm for a beer tasting: “In addition to the current taplist we will also have a keg of Claim 52 Brewing & Great Notion Brewing Super Humongous Triple IPA Collab! We are only receiving a small amount of Super Humongous so we will only be serving that in 5 or 10oz pours. Otherwise everything else is fair game for growlers and crowlers!”
Fort George Brewery (Astoria): Tonight at West Coast Drinkery in Portland, Fort George is presenting an Ugly Sweater Beer-stravaganza from 5 to 8pm: “Join us for a fun night of Ugly Sweaters, Beer, and Holiday Merriment! Thursday, December 15th from 5-8pm it’s on, so make, buy or steal the ugliest tackiest holiday sweater you can get your elfin hands on. Enjoy a fantastic tap list from Oregon’s own Fort George brewery as well as the launch of their new “May the Oats be with you” (a brand new seasonal Oat Stout not yet released to the public).” Sounds like a great party!
Barley Brown’s (Baker City) will be at Chill N Fill in Portland starting today through the 26th for their “Havoc” Christmas celebration: “Join us starting this Thursday the 22nd at 5pm through ALL Christmas weekend (including Christmas Day) as we drink up PINTS and GROWLERS of Barley Brown’s Beer featuring “2016 HAVOC”, a 9.5 ABV Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Barley Brown’s Gear will be also be given away starting at 5pm on Thursday including glasses, beanies and shirts. 6 other taps include the Pallet Jack IPA, WFO IPA, Ratchet Strap IPA, Tumble Off Pale, Sled Wreck Winter Ale and Bullseye Brown ALL WEEKEND.”
Three Mugs Brewing (Hillsboro) is hosting their Ugly Sweater Party tonight from 3 to 10pm: “Wear your ugliest winter sweater and receive a discount on every beverage. Contest at 7 pm to choose the ugliest sweater in the taproom. Winner recieves aweseme prizes.”
Bend’s Broken Top Bottle Shop is hosting their annual Vegan Holiday Dinner tonight starting at 6pm. They are featuring a four-course vegan dinner all paired with beer for $45. BTBS is one of the region’s best options for vegan/vegetarian dining and this menu looks pretty good! Call 541-728-0703 for reservations.
Lompoc Brewing (Portland) is doing a holiday tap takeover at the Craft Pour House in Beaverton this evening from 6 to 8pm: “Lompoc beer tasting, amazing prizes, and high fives for days! Try a wonderful assortment of holiday beers from Lompoc Brewing at Craft Pour House. Featured beers include: Jolly Bock, 8 Malty Nights, 2013 Old Tavern Rat, Brewdolph’s Revenge, and C-Sons Greetings.”
The Beer Station in Wilsonville is hosting a Winter Warmer Night tonight from 5 to 10pm: “Come celebrate the long, dark, cold nights of Winter with some of the best Winter Warmer brews available! We’ll tap these kegs at 5:00pm and keep several of them on througout the holiday weekend!” Look for favorites from Ninkasi, Deschutes, Fremont, and more.
Rogue Ales (Newport): Their annual End of the Year Holiday Garage Sale kicks off today at all Rogue locations, and runs through Sunday, January 1. “This weekend, get your Rogue lagers, stouts and ales in kegs, bottles and growlers as well as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, glassware and other Rogue goods while saving some money.” Great for last minute Christmas gifts!
