As regular readers are no doubt aware (thanks to my incessant blogging last week on the subject), this past Saturday, February 14th, was the state of Oregon’s 150th birthday—its sesquicentennial.

I’m a pretty big fan of this state—I was born and raised here, after all—and given that Oregon is one of the preeminent brewing centers of the country (world?), it seemed like a no-brainer that I would combine the Oregon sesquicentennial celebration with Theme Week here at The Brew Site.

Hence Oregon Beer Week.

(Not to be confused with this Oregon Beer Week which is the official week in July sponsored by the Oregon Brewers Guild, leading up to the Oregon Brewers Festival.)
