Some commentary:
- Barley Brown’s is Oregon’s big winner with 4 medals
- Little ol’ Bend had 4 of Oregon’s winners
- I’ve never heard of 10 Barrel’s “Sparkle Party”… I expect to see this on tap soon now!
- Full Sail really won 3 medals, since they contract brew the Weinhard’s beer (at least for right now)
- Bend cleaned up with 2 of 3 medals in the “Aged Beer” category, between Silver Moon and Bend Brewing
- Pelican’s Silverspot IPA was just-released! Winning a medal just out of the gate is impressive
Big congratulations to all the winners!
Boyz in the Wood is not Trainwreck.
Trainwreck is one of three beers blended together to make Boyz.
from Silver Moons website:
BOYZ in the WOOD
Oak Aged Barley Wine Blend
Train Wreck Barley Wine, Hound%u2019s Tooth Amber, and Hop Fury IPA all aged separately in oak and reblended. BOYZ in the WOOD has aged for over 12 months now. It is amazingly smooth, complex, oakey, and a perfect sipping ale.
Do not miss out on tasting this exquisite barley wine. This is a limited edition, one of a kind beer and when it’s gone it’s gone.
Served in a 12 oz brandy snifter.
Good catch. I was sure I’d actually seen somebody post “Boyz in the Wood” as the winner prior to posting this but I must be going crazy because I can’t find it now! At any rate I’ve made the note.
