Press Release: Firestone Releases Parabola Imperial Stout For First Time in Bottles
Firestone Walker Brewing Company announced the first bottled release of Parabola Imperial Stout today. This limited one-time release will go on sale for the first time at Firestone Walker Brewing Company on May 8.
Parabola has long been a component of Firestone’s anniversary beer series. These anniversary beers are a blend of barrel-aged beers released one time each year in very limited quantities. Over the past few years the individual component beers have been available on draft only and have garnered quite a cult following.
“We brewed our first Parabola 5 years ago as an experiment in barrel aging. This first bottle release show cases what we have learned and what we love about barrel aged beers and amazing flavors and textures that oak can bring to beer,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson.
This Imperial Stout will feature dark cherry, chocolate, espresso, & bourbon aroma and flavor. It is a perfect pairing to desserts like chocolate cake covered with a cherry chocolate ganache. A bold 13% alcohol by volume will leave the palate with a pleasant warming mouthfeel.
Parabola will be available beginning Saturday, May 8 at 11am at Firestone Walker Brewery in Paso Robles and The Taproom Restaurant in Buellton, CA. Twenty two ounce bottles will be available for $15.99 with a one case per customer limit, while supplies last.
Only 1000 cases of Parabola will be released and made available to select accounts throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington by mid-May. Co-producer David Walker doesn’t expect the beer to last long.
“We’re always amazed at the response to these barrel-aged beers. A year in the barrel. This Russian Imperial Stout is the grandaddy of beer styles and we hope we do it justice,” David Walker said.
