Press Release: St Austell Brewery launches new ale to warm customers this winter
St Austell Brewery, brewer of the South West’s favourite beer, will bring an extra glow to pub goers’ faces this Christmas with the launch of Tribute Extra, a new limited edition brew for the festive season.
At 5.2% ABV Tribute Extra is based on Austell Brewery’s flagship ale, Tribute but conditioned in oak bourbon casks for a stronger flavour.
In addition to appearing on the bar of many of the South West’s pubs this winter, Tribute Extra will join more than 100 great beers on offer at the 10th St Austell Brewery Celtic Beer Festival in St Austell on Saturday 29th November.
Director of Brewing, Roger Ryman said: “Tribute Extra is a superb, modern, Strong ale and its distinctive bourbon twist make it a perfect choice for the colder months ahead. We are all very proud of the beer which will be a very worthy addition to the fantastic range of beers we will be putting on for the Celtic Beer Festival 2008.”
Tribute Ale has enjoyed a phenomenal year and is bucking the economic slow down with sales in September nationally over 80% up on the same period in 2007.
Tribute has already been named one of the UK’s top ten premium ales, clinched a national sales deal with Waitrose and smashed its sales records for the seventh successive year.
As well as sponsoring a number of local clubs throughout the Southwest, Tribute ale is also the title sponsor of the rugby South West leagues across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, making Tribute the Official Beer of South West Rugby.
The St Austell Brewery Celtic Beer Festival takes place between 11am and 11pm on Saturday November 29. Tickets are £5 per person (available at the door).
