Pumpkin news: Elysian teams up with Georgetown Morgue for pumpkin beer delivery
This is one of the more random bits of pumpkin beer news from Elysian Brewing that came down the pipe: Elysian is going full Halloween and teaming up with Seattle’s Georgetown Morgue, billed as its premier haunted house, to offer beer delivery of its pumpkin beer variety pack in time for Halloween. It’s kind of corny but still fun and too good to pass up sharing the news.
You can sign up now for deliveries on October 27 and 28.
(And I still have notes to post about the Pumpkin Pack Elysian sent me and the virtual tasting event I attended; fresh hop beer have been taking up much of my time lately, but stay tuned.)
Here’s the press release:
Morgue Employees to Deliver Spine-Chilling Thrills and Elysian’s Pumpkin Variety Pack Halloween Week
It’s dark outside and there’s an ominous knock at the door. Were you expecting a guest? Your pulse quickens. Palms begin to sweat. You can hear your heart beating out of your chest. You open the door and that’s when it happens… you see the person, the thing, in front of you. Is it dead or alive? You can’t tell. You start to scream, are you imagining this or is it true?
During Halloween week this year, it’s true. Elysian Brewing has tapped Georgetown Morgue, Seattle’s premier haunted house, for the scariest beer delivery of all time. Scare actors from the morgue will haunt your doorstep, and nightmares, as they deliver Elysian’s pumpkin beer variety pack as part of the brewery’s “Scary Good Delivery Service.”
The real question here – is there anything scarier than a fridge without beer in it? This Halloween week, the brewery and morgue will aim to make that true. On Wednesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 28th, Elysian and Georgetown Morgue will spook Seattle locals who are ages 21+ with a dose of the creepy crawlies and a bone-chilling 12-pack of beer.
From brewing its first pumpkin beer in 1997 and creating the world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale in 2004 to launching the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival shortly after, Elysian is a pioneer in brewing pumpkin beer and offers a variety of beers made with Pacific Northwest-grown pumpkins. Not located in Seattle? Have no fear. Elysian’s to-die-for Pumpkin Variety Pack is available nationwide and features four beers that are sure to satiate pumpkin fans everywhere:
- Night Owl: A very drinkable Pumpkin Ale brewed with pumpkin puree and juice, and spiced in conditioning with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice.
- Punkuccino: A Pumpkin Ale with the attitude of a world-weary barista, Punkuccino packs a short shot of Stumptown coffee toddy with just a shake of cinnamon and nutmeg.
- The Great Pumpkin: The world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Boasting intense aromas of pumpkin with sugar and spice on the nose, Great Pumpkin is a delectably smooth fall brew that pours a deep copper color with a ghostly white head.
- Dark O’ The Moon: Spookily smooth and chocolatey with a slight smokiness on the nose, this Pumpkin Stout pours dark as night and is brewed with fresh pumpkin and pumpkin seeds with a hint of cinnamon.
Horror fans and thrill seekers ages 21+ can sign up for Elysian’s “Scary Good Delivery Service” at www.elysianbrewing.com/scarygooddelivery from October 14 through Wednesday, October 22. Deliveries will take place on Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28 from the dark hours of 5:00pm – 9:00pm PST.

It’s worth reiterating that this service is for Seattle locals only, though I haven’t checked what the range around Seattle might be (within 15 miles? 25?). Still this looks like it could be a lot of fun. If this happens again, I’ll throw out the free idea of brewing up a special collab pumpkin beer co-branded with Georgetown Morgue…
