Received: 10 Barrel Strawberry Crush
10 Barrel Brewing is adding a new Crush sour flavor, Strawberry, to its lineup this summer, and reached out to me this week to offer me samples. I picked up the case(!) of the beer from the brewery.
According to the PR email:
R&D Brewmaster, Tonya Cornett, has been experimenting with strawberry sours for years, mastering the perfect combination of ingredients. The result? Strawberry Crush.
To create this unique sour brew she started with a tart Berliner Weiss base and then fermented it on fresh strawberries for just the right amount of sweetness. She then added a touch of cayenne to really make the flavor pop.
At 5% ABV and 4 IBU, Strawberry Crush is the perfect beer to sip poolside on a warm summer day.
It will now be included in 10 Barrel’s Crush mixed-pack, along with cucumber, apricot and raspberry.
The cayenne has me intrigued and seems like an interesting way to bring out some flavor.
My plan is to roll a review into an upcoming print article so stay tuned.
