Received: Beers from Worthy, Cascade Lakes, Hopworks
Here’s a catch-up on beer samples disclosures for a bunch of beers I received at the end of last week. All of these are from Oregon.
Worthy Brewing variety of beers
Worthy Brewing has a number of interesting beers out right now, particularly the ones visible in this picture: the Easy Day lo-cal hazy IPAs in Tangerine and Grapefruit, and the Peace and Salinity Dortmunder Lager, brewed with malt from Mecca Grade Estate Malt that was infused with smoky character from the summer’s Lionshead fire along with lemon zest sea salt.
In addition to the hat in the picture, other non-pictured beers provided include Return to Hibernation Hazy IPA, Return to the Mountain Hazy IPA, Terpelicious Hazy IPA, and Rule of Two Hazy Imperial IPA.
Cascade Lakes Brewing Midnight Drift
Cascade Lakes Brewing has been going through some branding and brewing changes of late, and Midnight Drift is the company’s first packaged, barrel-aged beer, as well as the first barleywine. The label description says,
Put on some slippers, light the fire and drift into this barrel aged barley wine. The color is enveloping; a smoldering, uncontaminated Baltic amber hue enhanced only by the glow of flames licking at logs. Biscuits, honey-roasted nuts and a touch of caramel embrace the tender kiss of oak and graceful impact of a bourbon embrace.
I received a four-pack of 16-ounce cans of the beer, and I’m looking forward to trying it; watch for an article about it coming out in the near future.
Hopworks Urban Brewery’s latest releases
The February seasonal releases from Hopworks Urban Brewery are Juicy Bear IPA and Giggle Nuggets Dank IPA, of which I received two cans of each. Juicy Bear is brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Hallertau Blanc, and Lemondrop hops to 6.5% ABV and 40 IBUs.
Giggle Nuggets is bigger, with 7.5% ABV and 70 IBUs, and uses Trident, Idaho 7, Altus, Chinook, and Columbus hops. It’s also frankly got a creepier name, but maybe that’s just me.
