Received: BrewDog’s Tasty AF beers for Dry January
Non-alcoholic beers have been on the rise over the past year—at least, based on what I’ve seen and tasted so far—and I’ve just received the largest selection of them yet from Scotland-based BrewDog. The company’s “Tasty AF” (AF of course, open to interpretation from “alcohol free” to “arrested fermentation” to whatever else) series consists of six different NA beers, with a seventh coming later this month.
BrewDog is promoting these for Dry January, but also beyond. The PR email says:
In fact, Nielsen recently released a study that 47% of people over the age of 21 are making an effort to cut back or abstain from consuming alcohol. As a premier beer purveyor, BrewDog wants to make people passionate about great craft beer – and that includes those who don’t want alcohol in their beer. So, whether you are sick of hellish hangovers, making lifestyle changes for health reasons or generally curious about alcohol-free (AF) beer options out there, BrewDog has you covered this January and beyond.
I received six four-packs of the following beers (yes, basically a case of NA beer):
- Nanny State – the flagship
- Punk AF – the NA version of Punk IPA
- Hazy AF – Hazy NA IPA
- Wake Up Call – NA espresso stout
- Elvis AF – the NA version of Elvis Juice IPA
- Ghost Walker – malty with tropical hoppy notes, not really sure of the style
Because it’s January and topical for Dry January I’ll try to get these tasted and reviewed in time to be topical. Especially for anyone who is participating in the alcohol-free month who’s curious about these brews (all of which should be 0.5% ABV or less).
