Received: Deschutes Brewery Squeezy Rider IPA
Deschutes Brewery launched its new Squeezy Rider IPA this month, and as part of the rollout I received samples of the beer this week (three cans). The cans themselves are much less pink than the original press release imagery indicated. It’s a west coast IPA that’s 7% ABV with “mystery” IBUs—as the brewery said in the release:
What about bitterness units (IBU)? As hopping has moved from hot side to cold side, less isomerization contributes to increased IBUs. With the increased hop flavor and perceived bitterness, it’s inaccurately depicted by analytical IBU!
At any rate, I’ll soon dig into this new IPA and post some thoughts.
