Deschutes Brewery recently provided me with a four-pack of this year’s version of Super Jubel, the “once a decade” barrel-aged imperial winter warmer that released last month. It’s the brewery’s answer to the original accidentally-freeze-distilled keg of Jubelale that was stolen from the pub 30 years ago, returned for 2020. I posted details about this year’s beer here. I’d been planning to buy Super Jubel but the brewery got the sample to me first, so I bought a four-pack of The Abyss and a six-pack of Inversion IPA to go along with it.

It’s a good beer, tasting like an imperialized version of Jubelale, with nice boozy barrel notes. I’ll have more soon.
