Received: Double Mountain Fa La La La La
Right at the end of last week, I received a bottle of Double Mountain Brewery‘s annual winter ale, Fa La La La La. It’s brewed in the style of a “winter IPA” rather than winter warmer (think Sierra Nevada’s Celebration) with a classic Northwest profile.
Here’s the description to accompany the beer from the press release:
With winter right around the corner, Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery brings back their seasonal favorite, the Fa La La La La Winter Ale. Not every winter beer needs to be dark. In this spirit, we bring you great tidings of joy with this year’s Fa La La La La. Centennial hops take the reins with evergreen and bright citrus, with resounding choruses of Pilsner and Crystal malts echoing in the refrain. This Winter IPA is full and rounded, delightfully aromatic, and as crisp as a bluebird winter morning. The body has enough weight to warm chilled bones after a day out in the cold. Fa La La La La is currently available on draft and by the bottle at our Hood River Taproom, SE Portland Taproom in the Woodstock neighborhood, and throughout the Northwest.
Look for more about winter IPAs soon, including this one.
