Hop Valley Brewing is the official beer/brewery of the Seattle Kraken hockey team, and recently released a new hazy pale ale, Hockey Haze, in honor of the NHL Winter Classic game taking place next month. Here’s a bit about the new beer from the marketing email I received:

Seattle is hosting the NHL Winter Classic this coming January 1 and to celebrate Hop Valley, the official craft beer of the Seattle Kraken, is releasing a specialty brew in honor of the game. Available Dec 1, Hockey Haze (ABV 5.5%) is a light bodied Hazy Pale Ale with notes of citrus and herbal tea. Plus, with a design that mimics the throwback jerseys of the Kraken, any Kraken fan will need to have Hockey Haze in hand!

I don’t watch hockey, but when samples of this new beer were offered I accepted them to review, and a six-pack arrived this week. It’s 5.5% ABV with 20 IBUs, but I don’t have any other details about the beer yet. I’ll see what I can determine from tasting!
