Received: Hoplark 0.0 Citra (non-alcoholic hop water)
This week I received samples of the latest non-alcoholic brew to hit the market: Hoplark 0.0 Citra, essentially a non-alcoholic hop water or seltzer, flavored (“double dry hopped”) with Citra hops. Created with only carbonated water, Citra hops, and citric acid, it’s a zero alcohol, zero calorie, zero gluten beverage.
And it’s brand new this month, released on April 11 according to the PR email. The company is based in Boulder, Colorado and also has a line of Hop Tea and Hop Water, which only seem to really be differentiated by the addition of tea (for Hop Tea) or absence of acid (for Hop Water).
The company actually sent me a 12-pack, so I tried one already and first impression is a mild, hop tea-like sparkling water. It’s along the lines of La Croix only with hops, but I’ll have a more in-depth review sometime soon.
