Received: Kia Kaha Hazy Pale, Gypsy Coolship #3, Lost Love from Crux Fermentation Project
Last week, Crux Fermentation Project provided me samples of its latest beers, including a first look at the newest spontaneously-fermented Gypsy Coolship. Here’s a quick roundup of each:
- Kia Kaha — 5% hazy pale, brewed with New Zealand Motueka hops. Now available in 12-ounce cans year-round.
- Lost Love — Banished series big imperial rye stout (14.5% ABV), aged in Woodford Rye Whiskey barrels for 10 months.
- Gypsy Coolship No. 3 — The third iteration of Crux’s spontaneously-fermented wild farmhouse ale, cooled and inoculated at the DD Ranch in Central Oregon. It’s described as “citrusy in character with pleasing pear-like flavors and a delightful funkiness you’d expect from a night spent under the stars and twelve months aging in oak barrels.”
Some exciting beers here, which I’ll try to review and get in-depth about soon!
