This year McMenamins has been all about the cans; I’ve received seasonal samples from the company over the past few years in bottles and growlers, but it’s nice to see them embrace the cans as they have. For the impending holiday season, I received cans of Kris Kringle, of course:

I was able to pick them up yesterday at the Old St. Francis School which also afforded me the opportunity to meet with the new brewer there, Vance Wirtz. Wirtz is replacing Mike “Curly” White, who left to join Wild Ride Brewing; he worked with White for four summers in the brewery, and spent the past year working at Bend Brewing Company before accepting this position. I have high hopes that he’s going to be a good addition to the McMenamins family.

These cans are of course from the Edgefield, so I will need to seek out the local version of Kris Kringle for a side-by-side at some point.
