Last week I received a four-pack of the latest beers in the Dragon’s Milk Reserve series from New Holland Brewing, labeled 2022-2. This limited-edition series takes the bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout and blends it up with specialty ingredients to release new variants. This 2022 Reserve 2 variant is a riff on stroopwafel cookies.

This adventure begins with a slumber in select bourbon barrels, imparting notes of vanilla and oak to this brew. A tantalizing blend of baked stroopwafel cookies, sweet caramel, aromatic cinnamon and freshly roasted coffee provide a delectable dessert-like finish, completing the quest. Raise a glass to victory!

Sounds like a fantastic dessert beer! It’s 11% ABV with 30 IBUs and is available in bottles now. I’ll work on getting a review out relatively soon.
