Received: New Holland Brewing spring beers + Dragon’s Milk flavored bourbons
Big package from New Holland Brewing arrived this week, with samples of two of the brewery’s spring brews (press release about those here) as well as two new flavored bourbons from the company’s Dragon’s Milk brand line.
The beers are Tangerine Space Machine Hazy IPA and Full Circle Kolsch-Style Ale. Tangerine Space Machine is 6.8% ABV and brewed with tangerine (if you hadn’t already guessed from the name); Full Circle is the company’s spring seasonal with 4.4% ABV.
The bourbons are part of the company’s Beer Barrel Bourbon spirits line: Baked Apple Pie and Sweet Heat. A press release accompanies these:
New Holland Brewing Co. is launching a pair of brand-new flavored bourbons that reinvent their signature Beer Barrel Bourbon offering. These two new flavors, Sweet Heat and Baked Apple Pie, are unique products that give bourbon enthusiasts a chance to expand their palate and experience their favorite beverage in delicious new ways.
“Whiskey and bourbon drinkers love our Beer Barrel Bourbon because it features a mellow finish and complex flavors from our coveted Dragon’s Milk barrels,” said Adam Dickerson, distillery brand manager at New Holland Brewing Co. “Our bourbon has been received with such enthusiasm over the years that we’ve decided to expand our offerings with these delicious new flavors .”
Just like Beer Barrel Bourbon, both new flavors enjoy finishing time in New Holland’s legendary Dragon’s Milk barrels, which provide a naturally smooth, soft flavor. Baked Apple Pie ($29.99 MSRP) features those same rounded flavors, while real cinnamon and apple juice add notes of freshly baked pie.
Sweet Heat ($29.99 MSRP) is a bourbon built for sunsets and evenings on the back porch. Featuring real Arbol chiles, white peach and hints of smoked oak, this bourbon starts sweet and finishes with a subtle spice. This unique sipper is also a great addition to your whiskey-based cocktails.
“Flavored whiskeys are a burgeoning segment of the spirits industry, so we’re excited to add both of these bourbons to our Dragon’s Milk portfolio,” Dickerson said. “Baked Apple Pie and Sweet Heat are unique, delicious options for bourbon drinkers looking for new ways to enjoy their favorite drink. Both recipes are versatile and open up more occasions for our fans to enjoy our whiskeys. ”
These two year-round flavored bourbons are part of the Dragon’s Milk brand family. Originating with the 11% Barrel Aged Stout, the Dragon’s Milk brand now encompasses a full portfolio of barrel-aged beer and bourbon. Stay tuned for more whiskey releases, coming soon!
Both new offerings will be distributed across New Holland’s regional footprint on March 1, 2022.
I’ll be reviewing both of course, but I’m already deciding on which of the two beers to pair with these for some flavorful boilermakers.
