Dead Guy Ale is the flagship beer from Rogue Ales, and over the years Rogue has released a number of variations—Double Dead Guy, Dead ‘N’ Dead, Dead Guy Whiskey all come to mind—but a surprise package arrived late last week with a new one that I hadn’t yet heard about: Dead Guy IPA.

The company sent a six-pack of the new beer and a notice and invitation to the release party this Friday, January 13, at Rogue’s Eastside Pub in Portland. The tagline of the new brew? “IPAs are Dead” — with a website landing page here.

There aren’t many details I have on the beer yet, other than it’s 7% ABV and brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops. I’m not going to be able to make it to Portland on Friday, but I will be drinking the beer and sharing my thoughts on it.
