Received: Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint Hefeweizen
I recently received the latest in the radler/hefeweizen series of Schöfferhofer beers from Radeberger Gruppe, and it’s an unusual flavor combination: watermelon and mint. It’s hitting the market positioned as a summertime brew; the website description says:
Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint, the newest flavour sensation in our portfolio, brings a pure summer feeling! A refreshing blend of 50% sparkling Schöfferhofer Unfiltered Hefeweizen Beer and 50% Watermelon drink with natural mint flavor. It is the perfect combination of smooth bitter, sweet and sour and a touch of minty coolness. Summer can come! Cheers!
I’m not sure what the “Watermelon flavoured drink” might be exactly, but appropriately for a radler, it’s only 2.5% alcohol by volume. We’ll see how the flavor combo works especially as the weather heats up.
