Received: Widmer Brothers Brrr Hoppy Red
It seems we’ve transitioned entirely to winter beer season, at least from the marketing and release standpoint, and last week I received samples of Widmer Brothers Brrr Hoppy Red, the company’s annual winter seasonal. Billed as a Northwest Red Ale, Brrr is 7.2% ABV with 50 IBUs and the description says:
Brrr is a one-of-a-kind winter warmer. Generously hopped, Brrr’s citrusy hop aroma and smooth bitterness exemplify the Northwest-style red ale. ‘Tis the season to warm up with a cold one.
Brrr was first released in 2008, and that’s when I first reviewed it (13 years ago!). It will be interesting to see how the beer, or my tastes, might have changed in that time.
