Review: 2 Towns Ciderhouse Raspberry Cosmic Crisp Imperial Cider
The latest variant in the Cosmic Crisp cider series from 2 Towns Ciderhouse features raspberries, joining the original Cosmic Crisp along with the Tropical and Blueberry versions. It’s an 8% imperial cider created with Cosmic Crisp apples as the base, and uses both raspberries and cranberries to hit the desired profile. The website description says:
Ride into Class V galactic superwaves with this rad raspberry rendition of Cosmic Crisp®. Crafted with Northwest raspberries, cranberries, and Cosmic Crisp® apples, this celestial sipper will have you ripping the whitewaters of the milky way!
The cidery sent me cans to review; so this review joins the others in the series.
Appearance: Deep blood red, with good clarity, and what appears to be active carbonation.
Smell: Rich and jammy berry aroma, full of ripe raspberries and juice, bright and fresh. It’s really lovely and appetizing.
Taste: Sweet and tangy, bright pop of berry juice and fresh-picked raspberries. Berry compote and there’s a lightly earthy bit of cranberry as it warms, with some juicy tang in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Sweet and semi-petillant, bright, crisp, tangy.
Overall: Quite good, maybe the best of this fruited Cosmic Crisp series yet.
