Bend’s Silver Moon Brewing closed their downtown pub back in May for much-needed renovations. The original plan was to be complete and open again in June, but as is often the case with big construction projects, it strung out through the summer. Then end is here now! They were hoping for a September opening, and nearly made it—the pub officially re-opens on Monday, October 2nd, with a planned grand re-opening party October 13 and 14.

Here is the official email that went out today:

THIS IS IT! After 5 looooooong months of renovations, we’ll be re-opening our Bend pub just in time for Locals Night on Monday, Oct 2nd at 11:30am!
Yup! We’re still taking off $2 per brew!

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Join us for these special Bend Pub events:

Wednesday, October 4th @ 5pm: Descend on Bend Block Party!
It’s a Vanagon wonderland! Descend on Bend is the largest Vanagon gathering IN. THE. WORLD. We’re stoked to be part of it for the 2nd year in a row so we’re throwing a party for the early birds!
Live Music by Wayward Soul 7-10pm & an awesome Vanagon & Overland Car Show in the parking lot!

From what little I’ve seen, the effort has yielded a big improvement. The central feature is a new draft system and it’s quite stunning, unlike anything anyone else has in Bend—you’ll need to head down there to see what I mean.

And, I expect Hoppopotamus Fresh Hop IPA to be on tap when the pub opens…
