Newport, Oregon’s Rogue Ales & Spirits pivoted its distillery into producing hand sanitizer late last month, making it available for first responders and other essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rogue’s “Helping Hand Hand Sanitizer” has been donated to fire departments from Newport, Toledo, Waldport, Yachats, Depoe Bay, and Lincoln City, … Continue reading
I’ve never received PR from Lone Star Beer before, but the Texas-based company is launching a new seasonal beer, a Mexican-style lager named Rio Jade. In conjunction with that launch, the company is also kicking off its “Keep The Lights On Y’all” initiative to help support the Texas bar and … Continue reading
From the Tampa Bay area, Florida: 3 Daughters Brewing (which we got a chance to visit back in 2016 for that year’s Beer Bloggers Conference) has been giving back to the community with free hand sanitizer to the public, and free beer for Florida’s frontline heroes in the face of … Continue reading
Hopworks Urban Brewery in Portland is collaborating with the Looptworks Foundation to raise money to produce face masks by selling a special case of beer they’re calling the “Homebound Hero 24 Pack.” $5 from the sale of every case will go to Looptworks, crafting the masks for Central City Concern—details … Continue reading

Urban South Brewery is a New Orleans-based company that opened in 2016, and early this year, opened an R&D brewery location in Houston, Texas. The brewery has been dedicating some time and resources to pandemic relief support, with the latest announcement yesterday about the Houston location joining a global brewery collaboration, All Together, brewing beer to support hospitality professionals impacted by COVID-19.
2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis has spearheaded a (mostly) local delivery service that not only includes its own cider and hard seltzer products, but has partnered with a number of other Willamette Valley businesses (or craft suppliers, as the email read) as part of that service. Not only does it help out other businesses struggling during this time but also helps to bring “a taste of normalcy” to people staying at home and safe.
I’ve been maintaining a list of what all the Central Oregon breweries are doing to continue selling beer during this COVID-19 pandemic, offering options including purchasing beer to-go, ordering for delivery, and online sales. Many that have kitchens are also preparing food for takeout. These are great options for customers … Continue reading
My latest article for The Bulletin came out yesterday, in the paper’s GO! Magazine, in which I tackle the subject on everyone’s mind: Beer in the time of the coronavirus. With social distancing and self-isolation the rule of the day, that means drinking beer at home. If you’re a beer … Continue reading
With the current COVID-19 restrictions on restaurants, bars, and taprooms across the state, breweries are feeling the impact along with other businesses and are turning to alternatives to get their beer to people. Jeff Alworth posted a buying guide to Oregon beer during this time, and the Oregon Brewers Guild … Continue reading
