I’m a week behind posting this bit of brewery pandemic support news, but that’s okay—it’s good news for the Columbia Gorge area around Hood River. Double Mountain Brewery established the Double Mountain Foundation to help support employees impacted by COVID-19, and seeks to expand to cover other hospitality workers in … Continue reading
Here’s kind of an amazing story on COVID-19 pandemic support with an angle I wouldn’t have foreseen: California’s Sierra Nevada Brewing is able to help a local hospital with coronavirus testing by producing viral transport medium in its lab. Here’s the press release the company issued yesterday: Sierra Nevada Brewing … Continue reading
The Session ended over a year ago, but these are unusual times, and Alistair Reece over at Fuggled proposed a special quarantine edition for old times’ sake: Yes you read that right, for a limited time only (quite possibly just this once, or maybe a few times depending on response) … Continue reading
Newport, Oregon’s Rogue Ales & Spirits pivoted its distillery into producing hand sanitizer late last month, making it available for first responders and other essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic. Urban South Brewery is a New Orleans-based company that opened in 2016, and early this year, opened an R&D brewery location in Houston, Texas. The brewery has been dedicating some time and resources to pandemic relief support, with the latest announcement yesterday about the Houston location joining a global brewery collaboration, All Together, brewing beer to support hospitality professionals impacted by COVID-19.
2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis has spearheaded a (mostly) local delivery service that not only includes its own cider and hard seltzer products, but has partnered with a number of other Willamette Valley businesses (or craft suppliers, as the email read) as part of that service. Not only does it help out other businesses struggling during this time but also helps to bring “a taste of normalcy” to people staying at home and safe.
