The Green Dragon & Rogue’s Firkin Fest
Say what you like about Rogue Ales and The Green Dragon over the years, their annual Firkin Fest—the ninth of which is taking place tomorrow, Saturday the 20th, from 11am to 6pm at the Dragon—is one of those Portland events that I wish I didn’t live three hours away from so that I could attend. I mean, a festival dedicated to all cask ales? Yes please! Even better, it’s a fundraising benefit; Noah Smith from Rogue wrote to me, “Proceeds from the event will benefit Buckman Elementary School. Last year we were able to raise $3,000 for the school and we are hoping to increase that number this year!”
The event will feature firkin beers from 30 of Oregon’s top breweries – Firkin beers are unpasteurized, unfiltered, naturally carbonated in the cask and served at cellar temperature.
General admission session: 11am-6pm ($10)
(General admission includes entrace to the fest, souvenir tasting glass, and 5 taster tickets)VIF session: 2pm-4pm ($25)
(Very Impressive Firkin session includes general admission and access to 3 special Firkin tastings in the Green Dragon Barrel Room. VIF tickets are limited to 50 people)Additional taster tickets will be available for $1 each.
