Today is Learn to Homebrew Day
Today is “Learn to Homebrew Day,” a day of education and beer established by the American Homebrewers Association back in 1999 dedicated to helping people learn to brew their own beer. All around the country (and even in a few other countries!) there are Learn to Homebrew events being held to teach the art of homebrewing.
Here is Oregon there are a number of events being held by homebrew clubs of course, and there are also several being put on by some of the big guys:
- F.H. Steinbart in Portland, one of the biggest homebrewing supply and education stores around, is hosting an all-day LTHD event starting at 10am: “F.H. Steinbart Co. is happy to invite anyone interested in homebrewing to stop by from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 3, 2012 to join the fun! There will be a free brewing demonstration as well as question and answer time with one of our Homebrew experts and refreshments.”
- Oakshire Brewing in Eugene is teaming up with the Cascade Brewers Society homebrew club to demonstrate both beginning and advanced homebrewing techniques from 11am to 5pm. In addition, Oakshire’s beers will be available for sampling, and the Delacata food truck will be on hand to feed hungry brewers.
- Wakonda Brewing in Florence is hosting their LTHD event from noon to 7pm: “We will open our doors at noon and our brewer, Richard, will be making two different batches on his system throughout the day. We’ll have your favorite college football games on and a fresh batch of Timber Beast on tap.”
Happy homebrewing!
